Bluebonnets at 65 mph

You have to take a few photos for bluebonnets to be somewhat recognizable for a blog posting.

Quick trip to Ikea and back before my sweetie had to be to work.

Seems like the bluebonnets are early this year (this far north)?

Maybe it was all the snow on the ground here in February.

Yellow on the fence here are Lady Banks roses. Beautiful.

Isn't Spring grand?

Back in my old 'hood, yellow and white Lady Banks artfully trained on this archway. I wrote about this little place when we first started looking for a home in Fort Worth.

Wordless Texas Wildflower Wednesday

View other Wordless Wednesday sites. Outdoor Wednesday sites.

Doing anything tomorrow?

Perspective

I could tell my sweetie was really not into the whole wildflower photo trip on Sunday. He understands time is limited but I think the Nascar race (Texas - at that) was calling his name. Maybe he really wanted to work on putting up the dining room light (not).

So on a lone country road, which he usually likes taking, we see lovely vistas. So I say something like "Nice. It's on your side - take the photo."

I look at the photo and say something like "Really? You took a photo of the driveway. It has a zoom. Zoom in on the horses - get past the gate."

My sweetie follows directions very well. Nice horse shot.

Inside, from across the vehicle I took this.

Just a different perspective.

Wildflowers North of Flatonia

Everyone is going to the Texas Hill Country to get their obligatory wildflower shots. So we went East. Between San Antonio and Houston on IH 10 to Flatonia then North to Smithville.

Here in Texas we are never happy with the precipitation. Either too little or too much. I will say with the recent rains the tanks ("ponds" to you folks from other places) are full and the grass is tall. Looks pretty nice to me.

Different View

More of the same field shown the other day but comparing cameras. The first two taken with my Olympus which grabs all the light.

This last one taken with my Sony which does better in the sunlight. I have learned to use the "landscape" or the mountain setting for the faraway shots. It does make a difference.

Take all your cameras with you on a special outing. Never know exactly what you will get.

Elmendorf countryside

The country road leading up to Sandy Oaks Olive Orchard outside Elmendorf, Texas.

To the left of the driveway as I was leaving Sandy Oaks,

To the right of the driveway.

From IH 37 looking across the olive orchard toward the festival grounds.

The rest of the photo.

Now, if you are in the area, all the color is on the south side of San Antonio these days. As you drive south IH 37 from SA - when you reach the top of the Loop 1604 overpass look to your right and hold onto the steering wheel. You will want to stop the car and look at this amazing site. I took these next few photos as I was driving back to San Antonio and could not capture the jaw dropping beauty.
All the same pasture....

And it keeps on going. If you look into my rear view mirror you can see the awesome verbenas and phlox in the highway median. Hope I have time this weekend to get my sweetie out for a road trip and have some more wildflower photos for you next week.

Yaya, I understand the trip between Lytle and San Antonio on IH 35 is spectacular. Hopefully, I can get out that way to see for myself.
