Spring Blossoms

Spring pops in the Texas Hill Country with redbuds peeking out of the cedars and sleeping native brush. This photo was taken just north of San Antonio as the only time I could get my sweetie to stop.  Seen a few bluebonnets north at Burnet but hard to get at 70 mph.

Seen any signs of spring where you are?

6 Hours Later

The wind changed to the North and we got over an inch of rain. Suddenly, the grass is greener and the skies are bluer.

It is colder again - going to be 42 degrees tonight. Will this winter ever end?

The photo is of a viburnum at my part-time seasonal nursery job. It is wonderful to see Spring in a new part of the world.

Counting down... 11 days and counting until the famous "A Weekend in April" tour begins! Get a glimpse of the map here.

A Bit of a Roller Coaster Ride

I was downloading the photos from my cell phone and had a rehash of the emotional roller coaster known as my life of the last 3 weeks.

From the greenhouse in a cozy little spot at the back of our rent house (January 28th)...

To the storm of 31st..

Discovering the hoopla of the Super Bowl...

To the snow of February 4th...

To brightly colored tomato cages on the 14th...

To the tear down of my greenhouse today. (If anything is still alive it will survive without any covering in the future. Yes, the thermometer is reading 80 degrees. )

To the knowledge that Spring is coming again. My Texas red buckeye (Aesculus pavia) is indeed budding for spring!
Hope you all had a less exciting month so far.
