A Blush of Green

A little road trip around Texas on Saturday.

Bright green is winter wheat.

A reminder of the hot, dry summer...

Creek, looking west.

Same creek, looking east.

Some creeks are not as happy.

Wonder what that is?

Texas' version of happy cows.

We enjoyed the change of color.

It is amazing what a little rain will do! Your tour through photos is wonderful...love the green and the creek.

That bright green is a definite improvement. It seems I heard that the Dallas area is no longer in a drought. That was such good news. Unfortunately we haven't had enough rain fall over the highland lake chain and are still way dry down here. So thankful, though, for the rain we've had this winter.

Oh, I hope the drought is gone for the year. This winter has been wonderful for rain - not like last year! I do wonder what that dome thing is!

Your green grass fields look refreshing and those are very happy looking cows. So glad Texas is recovering because it seems like the whole country is lacking winter weather. We depend on snow and have had very little. But a wet spring is predicted here, so time will tell.

From this Canadian girl's perspective, it looks so inviting - drought or not. The fields with the cows make me wish for our spring (which is a good 2 months away)

I really hope/pray you have a moister summer than you did last year. The green wheat is so promising. We're finally having a few days of winter. You should check out the blog The East Side Patch. He has the toughest Texas plants I've ever seen.
