Spring Guilt

The temps here lately have been in the 60's and 70's. We have had rain almost every week. This is May -- in Texas! My friends just 200 to 250 miles south have been sweating to the 90's for weeks now. I am freezing my buns off here in Fort Worth. I had to wear my hoodie all day yesterday at my seasonal nursery job. I am sorry. If I could ship this weather south to y'all I would do it in a second!

Went on the Historic Fort Worth Hidden Garden Tour today. This was the only garden where cameras were allowed. See the plantings on the wall? Those are rain gutters. Very clever.

Immediately, when stepping into this garden you are greeted by the TechnoBlue Lobelia that matches the bench perfectly.

The end of Spring, the wrapping of the daffodil leaves. Beautiful way to keep them tidy as they recharge the bulbs for next spring's bloom.

The mimosas are blooming all over the Fort Worth area. A sign that summer has arrived, even if the thermometer here does not agree. Brrrr.

Love those garden tours, especially in your neck of the woods. They span three seasons with great weather.

It's been mostly cool and wet here too :( We had a few days last week that were nicer and I worked my butt off trying to get everything done I could. Now it's COLD and wet again....burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... Even lit a fire in the fireplace :(

Very clever with the rain gutters. I'll have to remember that one. We've had rain, hail, wind and temps in the 30s today. Where did spring go??? To Texas???

Arg, I can't believe the difference in our weather and we're so close...it's been nice this weekend though. That bit of rain Thursday really helped cool things off so I've been doing some gardening before the real heat sets back in...sorry you're so cold.

I can't believe how different our weather is either! It's cooler, but definitely not wet. I'm still outside watering, hoping I don't lose any more to drought (I've already lost several transplants and a few newly planted). Loved those pictures. Too bad they didn't let more of their gardens get photographed. I understand, but it would be more advertisement for them!

The gutters hung from the garden wall are beautiful. What an absolutely clever idea. Perhaps you could use it in Forth Worth.

Spring guilt here, too, can't get any work done for all the rain and cold weather. I sure wish we could mix 'n match rainy and sunny days to those who need it.

Love the garden you toured. Trying to figure out the rain gutters, that is a lovely effect on the wall. Every time I tour a garden, I come home with more ideas. ;-)

Love the blue bench. One of these days I'll have a bench and paint it a bright bright colour. I keep seeing them and they catch my eye every time.

We've had so much rain I may be building an ark soon! That's so weird that you weren't allowed to photograph the gardens. The plants growing off the fence were pretty cool! Thanks for the pix. :o)

I saw "Mimosas" and got excited for a Champagne cocktail!?

Cool pictures! The weather has been so crappy up here - we went from cold & rainy, to one 92 degree day (w/ A/C on), to 37 degree low and the heat on?!! Having 60 days of "April" is way over rated! :-o

Uck!
