A Bit of a Roller Coaster Ride

I was downloading the photos from my cell phone and had a rehash of the emotional roller coaster known as my life of the last 3 weeks.

From the greenhouse in a cozy little spot at the back of our rent house (January 28th)...

To the storm of 31st..

Discovering the hoopla of the Super Bowl...

To the snow of February 4th...

To brightly colored tomato cages on the 14th...

To the tear down of my greenhouse today. (If anything is still alive it will survive without any covering in the future. Yes, the thermometer is reading 80 degrees. )

To the knowledge that Spring is coming again. My Texas red buckeye (Aesculus pavia) is indeed budding for spring!
Hope you all had a less exciting month so far.

Spring does indeed seem to just around the corner. It's 70° here today with sunny skies. It's pretty windy too...but I can live with that! I've been walking around checking to see what's showing signs of budding and there's lots to found. Hopefully old man winter will stay alseep!

I would say my life has been pretty quiet compared to the goings on in Texas. Happy to see a few buds on your plants, maybe more survived the winery blast than you thought!

At least I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

It is snowing here today-night. I had to run out and re-cover the stuff I'd uncovered during the fake spring we had for a couple of weeks. SOooo sorry about your g/h. All the work and effort demolished. Hopefully, things will mellow out for you - I'll keep my fingers crossed.

The plants in my greenhouse look about like yours...I'm optimistic too. It's always such a pleasant surprise when something can overcome such harsh conditions. Have a great weekend!

You have been on a rollercoaster of temperatures and weather, that's for sure. I can't imagine going from snow to the 80's all in a matter of a few weeks.

We're in the 40's and wallowing in mud and snowbanks here. I have mud in the front yard and 4' snowbanks behind the house. Nothing's budding, but that's ok, we're not out of the snowstorms yet, I'm sure.

I hope things calm down for you, and have a great weekend!
