Are You Ready For Some Football?

Homeland Security seems to be ready.

Right after the sun came out on Friday afternoon it started. The helicopters. First it was a duo of Texas DPS helicopters (camera was not ready) then the loud low rumble of the Homeland Security's helicopter (camera ready) criss-crossing the city of Fort Worth. Then the news choppers came and that has been the din in my head every waking sunshine moment since.

My sweetie has taken my jeep to work each day this week due to the poor road/weather conditions so I have been captive. Saturday brings sunshine, my sweetie is off and I can ride around the cities in my jeep and get some Super Bowl viewing done.

Leading into Fort Worth, the home away from home for the Pittsburgh Steelers is this sign announcing the turf you are entering.

Hotel downtown Fort Worth

This looks like the place.

Wait! The tour is not over...
The town has taken on their colors.

ESPN stages are pretty empty on Thursday morning but I hear they came alive Friday and Saturday once the sun broke out.

I would like to know who thought of the Texas with the Madonna-esque football application...

Did we mention there was a rodeo going on, also? Actually, first time in history is was shortened by one day. All to make room for football fans to stay in Fort Worth.

Ok, where are those Packers...

Irving -- in an area called Las Colinas.

Las Colinas - a live work area in Irving, known for this fountain.
The Mustangs of Las Colinas

Hey, is that a Cheesehead?

Fountain, sans Cheesehead.

Onward to the city of Dallas, where you will find this sign along the freeway.

Yes, that signage is as big as it looks.

Heading back west to Arlington -- we take a quick trip by the stadium.

This parking lot is full of media satellite dishes. Mars will have nice reception of the game.

North Texas Luge practice. Actually, blasting the last bit of ice from the stadium roof line.

Tour over. Time to get home.

Back in Fort Worth and driving to the store, we see Iggy seems to be making a prediction...

I am rooting for the sun and hope everyone has a great evening where ever you are... even if you aren't watching the game.

Oh, I should root for the Steelers, but as an Eagles fan first and Cowboys fan second, I just can't bring myself to raise a glass to them.

Yikes, I'm exhausted, TG! Thanks for the hospitality!

Hey, thanks for the tour! I live in Grapevine, and I haven't actually ventured out far enough to see all the hype. Great game, though! GO PACK! All is well in cheeseland tonight :-) My family in WI is happy! Great shot of the cheesehead in Las Colinas :-)

Oh, I hope you all survived the Super Bowl! Love your photos, but the fact you captured a Cheesehead that far south is a little scary. They are way too plentiful up here, we have to thin the herd--and I had no idea they were migrating. Hope they don't become an invasive species for you.

Love the mustang fountain, just beautiful!
