What is left of the back yard - 6 large hackberry trees used to shade this nicely in the morning.
In a little pocket next to the berry boat, the plumbago is blooming next to the chili petin.
Japanese button bush.
A crocosmia (George Davidson, perhaps) next to the white philippine lily leavesthat have sprouted all over the yard.
Climbing Pinkie looking a little unkempt since the fencing behind her got removed and rebuilt.
Another phoenix in the backyard is the Red Fountain rose.Up and blooming since her pruning within 12" of her life.

I like that crocosmia! Did the storm knock down your hackberry trees? I had to remove a couple from our yard in the fall they kept gathering aphids.

Ooh, crocosmia! I planted some bulbs years ago, but still only foliage, no blooms. The button bush looks very cool, too.
Climbing Pinkie seems to last through just about anything!
Crocosmia has become one of my favorite plants of the summer this year. Love that blossom - and so do the bees and hummers.
Oooh... I love that crocosmia! Usually, we only see 'Lucifer' here--I wish our garden centers offered those lovely oranges.

Like everyone else, I love your crocosmia. And what a great little birdhouse arrangement!
It amazes me how things resurrect after mother nature prunes them. Three years ago we had a huge ice storm and I thought my yard would never be beautiful again.
I really like that crocosmia too, and the birdhouses are fun.

Thank you all for stopping by. June 9th we had a microburst through our neighborhood which took out 12 (50-70') hackberry trees down to the ground in our yard. Finally today the repairs are complete.

I bought a Plumbago from Home Depot last year, I thought it was such a interesting powder blue.. But it did not survive the Winter here in my neck of the woods.
I never heard of the Japanese button bush..interesting looking plant..
What a shame you lost your hackberry trees. A friend was just visiting from Texas and she returned to 101ยบ heat yesterday. We've had an unusually hot and very dry summer, but I'm so thankful we don't have to deal with constant high heat during our normal summers.
I planted Crocosmia in a pot this year. First time I've tried it. It has a way to go until it blooms. Yours is pretty.
