Working the company booth at the San Antonio Herb Market. This years market was set up next to the Pearl Brewery which is being built as the new trendy area of the newest extension of the Riverwalk. Late in the afternoon we heard music. The herb shoppers were thinning out and it was too early to start packing up so I took a walk.
Set up outside of the Pearl Stables I found this. Nice.
Ohhhh, its the Cattle Baron's Gala (benefiting the American Cancer Association).
Out on the lawn right across from the Pearl Brewery outdoor stage is set up for the band.
Additional stage areas in front of a dance (?) area.
Famous front doors to the Pearl Stables.
Pearl Stables - the home of the proud working draft horses in the late 19th Century.
Yes, other beverages had draft horses! ;D

Isn't it amazing what we find when we aren't really looking? I have been to one of those Cattle Baron's Balls, they are pretty spectacular. I didn't know Pearl Beer was building a new brewry, I actually wasn't aware Pearl beer was still being consumed. I guess it has been a long time since I thought about it. LOL.
I liked your post. I picked it, hope you get a lot of picks.~janie
Just love this area! I love this blog! Where did you get the wind chimes? Very cool.
Looks like you had great weather to enjoy your events. The brewery is such a beautiful building! Thank you for sharing.
That is quite a fancy stable. Is it open for the public to view?
Hey you guys, thanks for stopping by!
She is not using them anymore but I found the chimes on a blog that was following my work blog: http://chroniclesofyaya.blogspot.com/
Stop by and tell Yaya "Hello"
Pearl Brewery started in 1883 was available nation-wide bought by Pabst in 1985. Pabst continued production until they decided to quit all beer production in 2000. The Pearl Brewery land was purchased by an investment company and redevelopment began.
The Stables has turned into an entertainment venue (galas, weddings, etc.) If you visit San Antonio you will most likely tour part of the RiverWalk. A new branch of the RiverWalk has been extended to include the historical Pearl Brewing area.
Pearl Beer has returned and is brewed now by Miller Brewing Company under a contract with Pabst. Small production keeps Pearl Beer local now - only available in Texas and Oklahoma.
