Happy Labor Day

The north wind came screaming through Saturday evening and it has taken until this morning to actually feel the change in the air. Waking up to 66 degrees this morning, y'all!

Verifying my temperature reading with the Weather Channel, I see there are freeze warnings up just north of Karen and the Quarry Gardens in Wisconsin. This is so unfair. I would gladly package up some of the warmth in exchange for a bit of those rains.

Did I mention we really need the rain? Constant north winds at 17 mph have not helped our fire situation. Thousands of acres have been burned in dozens of fires that have popped up all over the state. There seems to be no end in sight for our weary firemen, many volunteer.

Do a little rain dance for Texas during your Labor Day cookout. (Thanks, Shyrlene!)

Good morning, Cindy! Having temps in the 60's must be such a change...goodness, that's almost a 50 degree drop. If we could send you some lovely rain showers, I certainly would and about now any warm air would be appreciated here, too, since it's only 50-something out this morning.

The fires are heart-breaking. With such a change in temperature, rain would normally happen, wouldn't it? But this is not a normal year. I'm polishing up my Rain Dance shoes!
