The Weatherman Missed Something

Thursday this front blew threw and broke our 100+ degree streak at 40 days. No rain came to Fort Worth from this. Only 97 degrees on Thursday and then back to over 100 on Friday. Sigh.

Today (Saturday), there is moisture coming from the sky. The weatherman mentioned yesterday there would be "pop-up" showers but not much was to come of the front moving through Friday night.

Nice slow drippy drizzly-rain for a little while. Looks like this cloud is moving south for the folks in Austin and possibly San Antonio. I wish it were a bigger front for those folks out east of us like Holly Garden, it looks like the heavy stuff will miss her.

Of course, an umbrella is not what my plants need on a rainy day. My only problem is I have them so well secured for the high gusty hot winds we get (most days) that I can't easily remove them. I would take the umbrellas out but the weatherman says the 100 degree days will be back on Sunday.

Its 75 degrees at 11 in the morning. Most nights do not cool down to 80 degrees, so this is quite an event. I have thrown open the thermal curtains and am taking in all the misty rainy gloom I can get. I will have to remind myself of this moment one gloomy day this winter.

So glad you're getting some rain - slow rain for a while - sounds perfect! I'm hoping we don't get missed entirely. Although we haven't had any rain yet, it's cloudy so we're still hoping! I'm so glad someone in Texas finally got rain - and hope the Austin area gets some, too.

Hooray for rain!!! We're supposed to get storms, too. I hope you get enough to soak the ground and really send the water deep!!

So happy that you got a small break. I hope that the extreme heat doesn't return for a while. Even a small shower smells so good after a long dry spell.

Rain is really worth a celebration in Texas this year. Hope more of Texas benefits as well. A little rain has been our way to, but the rains only last minutes. Still it helps the temps a bit. Today looks promising with 70% chance of thunderstorms. Glad we are in the eighties not 100's.

Thank goodness you got some rain. I hope it was enough to help the parched conditions there a little bit. But back to the 100's right away? Oh...such a year!

Love the sight of puddles in your pictures!
