Got Any Cheese?

to go with my whine...

Friday's thermometer reading at 2 p.m.
Hotter here in the loft garden due to all the pavement.

This morning (10 am), we were walking next door to the cute antique store and I tell my sweetie how nice it feels outside.

"It's 95 degrees," he says.

"Well, feels better now than it will later this afternoon."

The low at night has broken an new record high. What? It got down to 86 degrees overnight.

It was 107 at 7 pm and it is 100 degrees now at 9 pm.

Reminds me of the tour bus driver when we were in Las Vegas a few years ago. Commenting on the summer weather, "You say, 'It's a dry heat.' Well, so is a blow torch."

Thinking cool thoughts.

I am sending cool breeze wishes to you as hard as I can. These temps you are having are just too-too much. Hang in!

Yipes that is hot. And you are so right about the pavement baking the garden. It retains heat longer too, so little night time reprieve.

:( I've taken to being a hermit. I just don't go outside anymore!

I pray for all of you who are still under the Heat Dome! Who ever ticked off Mother Nature should be whipped!

and meanwhile I'm whining about the cold and rain. A little warmth is nice but that's just ridiculous.

I've been following your temps with the National Weather Service. Oh, my, hot, hot and more hot on the forecast. Good grief.

If anyone deserves some wine and cheese, it's you!

What a summer for you!! I hope you have a moist, cool winter. Thanks for thinking about us during the storm. Irene veered to the northeast so we escaped damage but did get an incredible 11 hour soaking that has my garden looking happier than it has in a long time. It's still very windy but no trees came down and we never lost power, so we're quite lucky. I'm still praying for rain for TX.
