Wrapping Up and Moving On

I have taken a blogging break since Christmas (not from reading - I don't want to miss anything) and have been mulling over the 2011 direction of this blog, Tufa World and life in general.

New town, new adventures begin. Holidays are just about over. Currently, my husband and I are actively seeking a larger place to live and come January 4th, I will hit the path looking for gainful employment. I would love to get back into the nursery sales world - just hope some one is hiring on these cooler winter days... Tufa World will idle on the back burner just until the housing and work schedule are established. I will definitely keep reporting all hypertufa finds on Tufa Things.

My passion for all things gardening has created its own separate adventure. I have discovered there are no great sources of this information for the Fort Worth area. No active garden bloggers to be found. I have found all the box stores and some local stores but nothing worth ravings yet. Where are the best nurseries, plant material, sources for yard art, public gardens, gardening clubs and societies? Maybe I could turn my blog focus on how to successfully restart a gardening passion in a new city...

Some things I can focus on today.

I must put away the 5 Christmas decorations for next year. We own more - they are all in storage for now...

I absolutely must purge my computer of the thousands of photos I have taken this year. Along with this realization, I have vowed to try to create a better presentation in my photos. (Does everyone use photo editing software?) Take, for example, the photo at the top of the page, there is no staging technique. See the Halloween/Thanksgiving pumpkin in back? (Nice.) I take a lot of random photos... I vow to make some of them better, much better.

Random photos.... an update for you... Remember the Blue Christmas posting?

It's a winner!

Random photos? An obsession of mine this past year and half has been participating on Along Life's Highway Yard Art Game. This year I have achieved an honorable 3rd place ranking and you can see some of my postings here.

My goal for 2011 comes via a posting by The Whimsical Gardener who chooses a word instead of a resolution to live by each year. "Espy [ih-spahy] is my 2011 word. It relates to catching sight of something...the hidden potential, lurking ideas, possible solutions, undeveloped thoughts, unrealized dreams and the implied pursued. It is the permission to explore - to take the time necessary to allow the sightings to unfold and materialize - to get over your hill and see!"

Espy. Sounds like a plan. I feel an new adventure is right around the corner.

Happy New Year!

Good luck on the job hunt. I love the idea of using a word instead of a resolution - I will have to find a suitable word...
Happy New Year!

P.S. I have caught the tufa bug and have been scouring the internet for interesting photos. Also, made my second planter today even though it was only 14 degrees outside. brrrrr.

I love the idea of "espy". I will be having some life changes this year and will incorporate this doctrine in my adventures for 2011.

I adore the little gingerbread trailer.
