Who Needs a Tripod?

Of course, I had to try.

Laying on the ground with my camera wedged between my patio table and my chin seemed to work for this photo. Happy Winter Solstice and Lunar Eclipse!

You got a great photo and are singing my song. I rarely you a tripod when I know I should. Like lifeshighway said, great dedication.

That is an absolutely amazing shot. What kind of a camera are you using???? My camera just would not do that. We were noticing the moon last night and talking about wishing we could get a good picture of it.

Wonderful shot!
We had hoped to see it here in New Zealand - but too cloudy.
Glad you got to see it!

Love Leanne

CSR, my camera is a 2005 Olympus 3.2 megapixel with 10x optical zoom. I took the photo in "tiff" and shot about 50 tries. It got too cold and I decided to go in. I was very pleased this photo came out.

Fabulous shot! We had thick, thick cloud cover here in my spot downunder ... couldn't see a thing! So thanks for sharing your great image. Tripods are highly overrated!
