Signs of life

A drive along the Guadalupe River with my sweetie. The world was looking a little brown and lifeless.

Then a glimpse of trout fishermen could be seen.

A couple shots of this guy. I do not know what he is. Curved beak, heavy feathers on his legs. This photo he is looking to the right. He almost looks like he has a buzzard face. We stayed and watched him for several minutes - none of my photos are any better than this.

Then later in our trip, another one flew over. Click on the photo below to see him a little better. Flying fast - so pardon branches and leaves in the photo. I need to get my birding books out. I will let you know what I learn.

UPDATE: It's an Osprey!

Great pictures TexasTufa! I'll just bet you also saw a lot of colorful birds. Rare in the area during the growing season, but in abundance in the Winter.
