Roses on St. Valentine's Day

Ok, they are just buds but they are roses.....

Now, the sad part is it is time to prune rose bushes here in South Central Texas. Time to add a little organic fertilizer to the soil and then wait. The rose bushes should be beautiful this year. Cooler weather and all this rain have given the garden the refreshment it needed.

Happy St. Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to you too! I suspect your weather patterns are cooler than ours further south. I only have two roses left. Lost most of them to the heat over the years. Even some I had gotten at ARE that were supposed to be for our heat. It's just too hot here!

oh, I want to live in a place where the roses are still green. Actually I would love to live in a place where the roses do not get black spot, sigh

Yaya, It was hot here but I think this winter will help them this year. Trim your bushes back - now is the time for us.

LH - There is black spot here too. Spring into early Summer can be brutal humid. Get you some Antique Roses! (LOL)

That's exactly what I did yesterday. Prune those roses. Scrapes and scratches everywhere. Well, are you going to cut off those buds. I wouldn't.
