Water for the birds

Took this photo on Sunday. Earlier in the morning I noticed the finches and cardinals looking to the frozen birdbath for water. I added some water to the top and waited.

Grackles from miles around sent out the word, "Water here!"

Luckily a loud truck went through and scared them off. Not that I am picky about my bird friends but these grackles can be very loud.

Very neat. I have a bird feeder outside my office window and have considered putting in a birdbath, but never have. Do you get more bird having the basin so close to the grown?

It's a good thing you are providing water for your feathered friends. I have yet to see a cardinal this year, but last year we had a pair feeding in our yard. Hope you post pictures if you see any in your area.

Dove usually like to use a basin on the ground. I have them close to the ground for our cat and dogs also.

Yaya, I have seen quite a few cardinals but I have been putting out sunflower seed mix.

I will say even the bug eating birds stay in my yard because I have 2 - 3 places for all the birds can go for water or bathing.
