Blizzard Warning in Texas? Everybody in the Jeep!

My sweetie had to work Wednesday, so I went "up" to Arlington. Thursday morning we learn there is a chance to see some snow west of us. The weathercasters did not seem to think the Fort Worth (Arlington) Dallas area would see any of this.

So.... Road trip!

Avoiding all the major roads we take off to the North West.

The best of the trip was as we got close to Bowie (yes, named after the man with the knife). My sweetie says the car behind us was spinning. Hmmm. I know we would be fine but feared the folks out on a late mad dash to the mall.

We learned later this area had drifts up to 5 feet. It was a white Christmas for North Texas.

As it turned out snow was waiting for us as we arrived safely back home.

This is the area we covered but not on the main road as marked. Nice snowy drive in the country. Very unusual to see snow here on Christmas.

I am back home and back to work on Saturday.

Oh, I'm so glad you're home safe. Those icy roads can be so treacherous. But at least you got to see some snow!

Thank you Yaya. Took only back roads so we did not see many people on the roads. No ice only snow when we were out. It was a fun day.
