Took a couple hours off between chores this weekend and headed to Ennis to view the bluebonnets.
Actually, this year with plenty of cool temperatures and pleasant amount of rainfall, there is no need to travel very far in Texas to see the beloved bluebonnet.
Bluebonnet viewing comes with a few hazards. If you look to the left of this photo a gentleman appears and asks my sweetie what he is doing. Duh? ... My sweetie is polite and says, "We stopped to take a photo. Your bluebonnets are beautiful." *crickets* So, we move along...
Hmmm.... more photos to add but Blogger upload is not being friendly...
Hum a springtime tune and enjoy the blue and green of Texas....
"The bluebonnet is to Texas what the shamrock is to Ireland, the cherry blossom to Japan, the lily to France, the rose to England and the tulip to Holland." -- Jack Maguire, Historian
Off for our trip to the northlands. Hopefully, I will find wildflowers along the way. See y'all next week.

I thought Bluebonnet season was also known as "trespassing season".
They are pretty to see, we didn't have as much rain in San Antonio and had fewer Bluebonnets than you are getting.
Simply wonderful!
They are just starting to really put on a show here, and I just love them. That quote truthfully tells how us Texans feel about our bluebonnets!
wow, I've never seen a wide shot like that before. I had no idea they were that plentiful.
How lovely! They are so beautiful...to see fields and fields of them must be a joy.
